The gambrel (barn) roof design creates a second-story loft that's 4-5 feet tall — enough to store bins, seasonal gear, holiday decorations, and anything else you want up and out of the way.
Below the loft, you get 7-foot walls standard — plenty of room for lawn equipment, tools, workbenches, bikes, and everyday items on the main floor. Want more headroom? Upgrade to 8-foot walls for an additional charge. Seasonal and overflow items go up top.

How tall is the loft in a barn-style shed?
The loft height varies by shed width. On a 10-foot wide shed, the loft is approximately 4 feet tall. On a 12-foot or wider shed, the loft reaches 5+ feet. Enough to stand in a crouch and easily store bins, boxes, and seasonal items.
Can I use the loft as a living space or office?
The loft is designed primarily for storage. While some customers use it as a hobby area or reading nook, it's not tall enough for full standing height in most sizes. For a full-height second level, we'd recommend discussing a custom build during your consultation.
How do I access the loft?

How much weight can the loft hold?
The loft is framed with 2×6 joists and works great for typical household storage — holiday decorations, bins, boxes, camping gear, and seasonal items. It's not designed for heavy loads like machinery, engines, or dense stacked material. If you have something unusually heavy in mind, ask us before the build and we'll talk through options.
