A finished structure from Indy Shed Co is a complete, custom-built building with a fully finished interior — insulation, drywall or wood finishes, flooring, electrical, lighting, trim, and climate control. Everything you need to start using it the day we hand you the key.
Every build starts with the same premium Indy Shed Co shell: LP SmartSide siding, 2x6 floor joists, Advantech plywood subflooring, architectural shingles, and Tuff Block foundation. Then we finish the inside with your choice of three interior packages — from clean painted drywall to full wood ceilings with exposed beams and built-in cabinetry.

How much does a finished structure cost?
Total cost depends on size, style, and finish package. Our most popular combo — a 12x16 Classic Style with the Signature Finish — runs approximately $36k–$45k total. Smaller studios start around $24k. Flagship builds with covered porches start around $30k. We offer financing through Wisetack with affordable monthly payments.
What's the difference between the three finish packages?
Classic Finish ($8k–$12k adder) gives you a clean, functional interior — painted drywall, LVP flooring, recessed lighting, outlets, and mini-split ready wiring. Signature Finish ($12k–$18k) upgrades to tongue & groove ceilings, designer doors, larger windows, and dimmer switches. Estate Finish ($18k–$30k+) is the full showpiece — wood ceilings, exposed beams, accent walls, built-ins, oversized glass sliders, and mini-split installed.
How long does it take from start to move-in?
The exterior structure is typically built in 1–2 days. Interior finishing takes 1–3 weeks depending on the package. Total timeline is usually 2–4 weeks. Compare that to a home addition at 3–6 months.
Can I customize the exterior color and style?
Absolutely. Every structure is custom-built on-site. You choose the collection style (Classic, Homestead, or Modern), the siding color, door style, window placement, roof type, and hardware. We can match your home's existing color scheme or go bold with a contrasting look.
Do I need a permit?
In most Indianapolis-area communities, structures under 200 square feet don't require a building permit. Larger builds and electrical work may require permits. We've built across the metro and can help you navigate requirements for your location.
Is it heated and cooled?
All finish packages include full insulation. The Classic package is "mini-split ready" (pre-wired so you can add HVAC later). The Estate package includes a mini-split system fully installed. You can add a mini-split to any package as an upgrade ($2.5k–$4k installed). We strongly recommend climate control for year-round use in Indiana.
Can I finance my finished structure?
Yes — we offer financing through Wisetack. A 12x16 with Signature Finish can be financed for roughly $600–750/month depending on terms. Apply in minutes during your consultation.
What's NOT included?
Furniture, staging, decor, appliances, permit fees (if applicable), and landscaping around the structure. We build and finish the building — you furnish it and make it yours.
