Indianapolis / Marion County
Structures over 120 sq ft, taller than 15 ft, or on a permanent foundation require an Improvement Location Permit and a Class 2 Structural Permit. We submit site plans, engineered truss specs, and drainage info on your behalf.
Hamilton County (Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Westfield)
Accessory structures require a permit through the Hamilton County Plan Commission. Sealed truss designs from a registered Indiana engineer are required. Setback distances from property lines must be shown on the site plan.
Typical Setback Requirements
Most residential zoning requires 5–10 ft from side/rear property lines and 25–35 ft from the front. Accessory structures typically cannot exceed the height of the primary residence. We verify your specific lot's requirements before design.
HOA Considerations
Many Carmel, Fishers, and Zionsville neighborhoods have HOA covenants that restrict accessory building size, placement, and appearance. We design pole barns with color matching, wainscoting, and architectural details that pass HOA review.

Yes — concrete is included in every pole barn project. Our crews have 40 years of experience in both concrete work and post-frame construction. You don't need to hire a separate concrete contractor.

We've got you covered. Our custom metal sheds range from 4x8 all the way up to 16x24 and are built with the same wood-framed construction and metal exterior — just on a smaller scale.
